The SUMMER ELITE CAMP is our most comprehensive and intense program offered for skaters and goalies. This program is intended for the player looking to pursue college hockey and beyond.
This is an excellent program for the serious and motivated hockey player. This On & Off-ice summer training program is excellent for players who want to learn to live the hockey athletic lifestyle.
FORWARDS & DEFENSE SPECIFIC TRAINING:
26 hours of ice time
Video skating analysis
Dynamic power skating
Speed & Agility
Passing, shooting, and scoring
Game concepts drills (forward & defense)
Speed & agility
Balance & Coordination
Off-Ice skills (shooting & stick-handling)
GOALIE SPECIFIC TRAINING:
KIIH Goalie Training with former NHL goaltender and current WMU Assistant Coach Tom Askey
Daily Format for Summer Program will contain these elements each day:
Goalie specific skating and edge work
Crease awareness and post position technique
Shooting drills with proper movement, technique, and save selection.
Game situation drills with trained shooters
Playing the puck, communication, reading the game and execution.
Small area games and competition
2-3 goalie limits per 90 minute session to provide quality work to rest ratio and individualized attention directly from Tom.
Goalies participate in Off-Ice Dry-land
